i enjoy
one of winter’s
last night-time skies
a new season dawning
arriving
unfurling herself
— life!
and yet so much of me

disrupting
slowing
killing
destroying
bulldozing
old ways
perhaps there’s a gift in it, wonders
a place in me
or perhaps
we humans —
far outnumbered —
discover a new way to live
with such a disrupter
who becomes
a strange friend
…not out of fear,
…out of love
in these bigger hands that hold
us all
— humans and bugs alike —
this life
that includes
us all
THE ALL
