VITALITY Cincinnati

Find Your Vitality

Are you between 40 - 60 years in age and starting to ask yourself….

Do you find yourself entering a new phase in your life and not sure whether you and your partner’s vision of what that looks like is compatible?

Maybe you have decided to move on from your marriage/career, but does a part of you wonder whether you’ll be taking the same game into your next relationship/career?

Does everything seem to be changing around you making it difficult to flow with it all?

Have you noticed those tight spots in your body getting even tighter?  Not feeling as strong or as flexible as you did a few years ago?  To continue doing all the things you love and even new pursuits you’re curious about, there must be something you can do to support yourself, to find stability and flexibility and a healthy interplay between the two, right?  Something that doesn’t cause you even more pain and grief, right?

Sometimes in our 40-60s our closest relationships start to change.  Our parents get older and may need more of our help.  We might find difficult to know what healthy helping looks like.  When working with our siblings to do this, do old unresolved dynamics resurface?

If we have kids they might be moving out…and how do those relationships look now?

That’s a lot of change coming on quickly!

Our new circle hosted by Paula Dunson & Brian Shircliff can help you discover a path forward!

perhaps you too are feeling ready
to transform into something beautiful & vibrant
in your middle years

Do you find yourself entering a new phase in your life and not sure whether you and your partner’s vision of what that looks like is compatible?  Maybe you have decided to move on from your marriage, but does a part of you wonder whether you’ll be taking the same game into your next relationship?

If you feel that your partner is not fulfilling your needs, there might be some truth to that but only your adult self can fulfill those needs and any other attempts might end up in failures.  When we become aware of that, our relationships change because we are no longer asking for things from the other person that they can’t give us and we begin to give those things to ourselves.

Do you find your close relationships are causing friction in your life and taking away your peace?

This second half of life does not come without its challenges.   Parents who need more of our help as they age.  Our relationships with our siblings in this second half of life also changes, and we might experience friction especially when it has to do with taking care of aging parents.  We also might be navigating how to grow into adult-relationships with our adult-children. This second half of life might also find us on our second or third marriage and having to deal with ex-spouses and stepchildren.   Understanding how healthy love flows in relationships can be one of the greatest gifts we can bring into our circle. When we stand in places that don’t belong to us, then those relationships don’t flow and anything that does not flow becomes stagnant and dies.    It might not be easy at first to change these old and sometimes unhealthy patterns, we will encounter resistance, but when we engage in healthier ways it benefits everyone.

Does everything seem to be changing around you making it difficult to flow with it all?  Maybe you notice your long-time friendships feel strained or it’s difficult to even have a conversation with a neighbor?  Have you tried so many things to find your center and stability and still not sure where that is within you?

Finding who you are in this moment of your life might not feel simple, it really is a journey and change is not easy, otherwise we would all have the life we dream of.  A part of us might want to complain and give up, which won’t lead us to any different outcomes, our life will be more of the same. If we really want to live our fullest life, we must find ways that resonate with us that lead us to finding stability within oneself, leading us to a different outcome.  It is the child in all of us, whose only tool is to complain and wants to give up, to be saved. Only the adult in us can make the changes needed to live the life we always wanted.   You need to parent the child within you!  Can we allow that aspect of us to lead us into a better life?

Perhaps your tribe needs to expand in order to support this new narrative.  We are offering you a group of friends who are resonating with wanting to live a fuller life.  Making these changes is not simple.  New pathways are difficult to establish.  To embark on this transformative journey with new friends can make the difference.  With a group of likeminded people, we can resonate with this desire for more health, peace, and more flexibility in the responses to life’s challenges.

Have you noticed those tight spots in your body getting even tighter?  Is your body feeling not as strong as a few years ago?  Your bones are your stability in life, your “backbone” we often say.  True for one’s overall health too!  What’s the best exercise for bones?

Walking.  It also happens to be the best exercise for your nervous system too, at any age.  In the medical world, some professionals are reclassifying bones as central to the endocrine system and immune system.  As we age into our 60s and 70s and 80s and 90s plus, walking likely will become the exercise we turn to to maintain our health as we age.  Often though we break down our ability to walk well in our 30s and 40s and 50s either due to too much exercise or not nearly enough.  Bones for Life is a series of 90 gentle processes geared toward improving your walking.  How?  It’s based on what we did as infants and toddlers to learn in our own unique ways how to stand up and then walk.  And because so much of our other exercise is built upon being upright and walking, Bones for Life can improve your other athletic endeavors as well…running, weightlifting, hiking, golf, tennis, basketball, horseback riding, volleyball, martial arts…even swimming!    Bones for Life is not an exercise program, though you’ll discover that it can help with just about any exercise program upon which you embark – even if that program is just a walk around the block once a day or a few times a day.  We can learn to move in ways that feel good so that we’ll want to move more and often.  Bones for Life can help you walk into the life you imagine for yourself.

Have you spent your life working for someone else, investing in everyone around you and now the time has come to invest in yourself and your personal growth?

This transition into our second half of life offers the opportunity to slow down and the chance to get to reconnect with ourselves. Some of us have functioned in “automatic” for so long, we don’t even remember who we are anymore.  We might be faced with big transitions (kids going off to college, retirement), and we may find that the busyness that once sustained us, now gives way to feelings of emptiness and disconnect.  This does not need to be a crisis however, it is an invitation to connect with ourselves and be more conscious about how we live this second half of life with all it has to offer.

If your mission for this second half of life involves more than just surviving then we need to take steps to live the life we desire and stay physically healthy.  Bones for Life can help you find your center and stability and then move from there – move from that place of strength.

The invitation is to take a look inwards, to make the only changes that we have the power to make (working on ourselves).  When we are able to put the focus on what is essential, then the rest of our relationships will fall into place. I don’t need to leave my current relationship to start having a better relationship with myself, to know what I like and not like, to ask for what I need from others.  When we start to treat ourselves differently, then the outside will reflect that as well.   And one way of seeing things differently is changing the story we tell ourselves, to live from the well of strength we discover within.  Changing one’s narrative has the potential to change one’s life!
